My First Blog Post

Why I started this blog

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

The reason I started a blog is because I am interested in helping others achieve a healthier lifestyle. There are so many people out there looking for answers. So many people needing help choosing better choices for their life. I was, and am still one of them. I have accomplished living a mostly healthy lifestyle through diet, movement, changing my mindset and mediation.

See I don’t think you can just do one of these things, like diet, and become healthy. A lot of it is in the mind. We must shift the way we think about everything before we truly can move forward in our lives. I have known many people to do the fad diets only to loose the weight and gain it right back in a matter of months. I would like to help people change the things they need and want to change through offering my life experiences and how I got to the place I am today.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Reflecting on 2020

Quartzsite, Arizona – December 2020

2020 has definitely been a tough year for most of the world. It’s amazing the variety of reactions to all the disfunction there has been. I know I have had my share of disfunction and reaction to things.

As things have unfolded and as I have watched others react to it as well as myself, I have noticed many things over the last 9 months.

I realized that I was not compassionate to how others see the world when it was different from my point of view. I still have a hard time with it at times. I’ve learned that most people do what’s right for them and are ok with me doing what’s right for me most of the time. Or at least they don’t say anything to me. Which is ok with me.

I’m not a mask wearer, so I was really offended when people started pushing this agenda on me because THEY were scared. I am strong within myself and my health knowing that my body will overcome whatever flu, cold, bio weapon may be floating around at the time. So my compassion for others that were scared was being challenged as well as my right to decide for myself.

I realized that 2020 is a wake up call for many. It’s tough to wake up to a corrupt government, corrupt president, corrupt voting industry, corrupt healthcare, corrupt pharma industry, corrupt money system, corrupt media, ect. I could go on and on about all the corruption that has been placed out in the open this year but I won’t. Not today anyway.

When I woke up to the truth about 20 years ago it was tough. I remember asking myself so many questions like… why does the FDA approve of harmful chemicals going into food that make people like me sick. It was a tough thing for me to think the world was one way and then realize the truth is completely different. To realize that these government corporations don’t care about me like I thought they did was heart breaking. They only care about money and power.

I needed to learn the truth in order to grow within myself.

We must always question our belief systems. Ask ourselves where we got these beliefs. Are they still true today or have they changed? Is what I believe true? Am I lying to myself to believe this thing that has been taught to me?

Here is a great quote…

Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.Mahatma Gandhi

I think there is a large amount of people going through an awakening in 2020. I have deep compassion for these mind blowing changes that people are going through to find the truth. It’s been such a powerful year.

Me and my husband Allen could have made this year a really hard year, but we choose to continue on with our dream of selling our house and RVing full-time. It was quite the excitement at the beginning of the year to decide if we were going to go through with it. We said yes to life and never looked back. We have had our own challenges on the road but overall we have been quite happy with our decision to travel. Even with all the disfunction, I can say that we have had the best 2020 year. We will definitely remember this and so will our kids. It’s been filled with so many positive memories.

I just want to pass on to all of my readers that it’s never too late to start turning your life around.

The key is to start disconnecting from all forms of media. The media not only has a flicker rate to hypnotize you but it’s also addicting.

You can look this stuff up for yourself. You may have to look a little deeper these days since google and other media is trying to sensor so much, but it’s out there.

Also getting outside is key. Getting back into nature like our late ancestors did is so very important. Start out with baby steps if you need to. Just go in your own back yard and admire the birds and squires is a great first step. Take walks outside. They don’t have to be long, but when your outside be outside. Don’t bring your phone and don’t think about your todo list for the day. Be with nature and admire the colors, the wind, the trees, the animals. It may take a little time get into the swing of getting outside but keep trying it.

Stop listening to or reading negative things that make you angry and start listening to and reading things that will lift your spirit.

A habit takes between 21-31 days to form. Challenge yourself.

Believe me I know how hard that can be to pull away from the drama that unfolds everyday on the media. It’s a must if you want to have a better, more positive life though. there are so many positive books out there to read, So many positive things on YouTube if you search for it, Positive podcasts, ect.

If you want it bad enough you will make it happen.

You got this.

Until next time my friends… I’m sending you all my love. I hope this read is one of many things that you find helpful in your search for a healthy life.

Reflecting on life relationships

It’s been a while since I posted anything. Life has been busy and fun, traveling around the Pacific Northwest the last couple of months. What better way to spend the summer of 2020 but to camp. People are more laid back in campsites than the city. People go camping to unwind, distress and get back in touch with nature. It’s been quite nice to mostly disconnect from the craziness of politics.

A month ago my travels brought me to see family and I saw my nieces and nephew. It was great to see them and catch up. I also saw my sister on this trip after not seeing her for 2 or 3 years. The last time I talked to her she was having a mental break and needless to say it did not go well with our relationship or a lot of her families relationships for that matter. She had gone undiagnosed with manic depression and had been self medicating for years. After this episode she was forced to go on conventional medication to help regulate her mood and save her marriage.

Sometimes people need a little help to get them back on track. I don’t think long term use is the answer though. I believe if we work on ourselves through diet & lifestyle that we can overcome anything.

~ Now there is a lot to that “lifestyle” part to be aware of, don’t let that one little word make you believe it’s just a little thing. It’s learning how to take control of your mind, connect with your fears, your past and live in the now just to name a few things. ~

When I saw my sister for the first time in years, I saw how much she changed. These are not changes for the better either. She has gained weight, she looks sedated in a sense which I think the medication does to her. It was sad to see her like this.

A little background on her… before the move that brought on her mental break, she was getting her digestion in order and I was helping her do some things to help with that. We were able to talk openly about spirituality and our relationship felt good. I thought it was getting stronger. Things appeared like they were going good for her. Come to find out as the move got closer her mental capacity for all the stress got worse. I don’t know if she was taking care of herself during this transition or not. I think probably not.

What did I learn from this meeting with my sister, my nieces, my nephew, my past, my present and my future?

Life is too short to be lived in a way that doesn’t serve the individual that is living it. I realized that my sister is only existing now. She is not living a full life. She is not being the person she should or could be.

To be that person takes strength and courage. We all have the strength and courage within us but we must find it. Some of us have stuffed that part of us away for all kinds of reasons.

In order to find our true selves we must work at unraveling the lies we tell ourselves or the lies that others have told us while growing up. This is not part of us and we don’t need this to be part of us any longer. We must break the chains in order to find and become our true nature.

I won’t lie to you… it takes work. It is a life long process but in the end you will be satisfied with your accomplishments. If you only live to exist you will regret life when you take your last breath. I have seen and heard this numerous times.

I always want to leave you with things to work on…. this is what I recommend…

Do these 3 things everyday…

  • Meditate
  • Journal
  • Write what you are thankful for, even if your not in a good mood. (There’s always something to be thankful for even if it’s just your bed, the roof over your head, food, ect.)

Over time you will see improvements in the way you act and react to others. The way you think will change. The way you see the world will change. You are birthing a new you. One day you will wake up and realize that you are different. I guarantee, if you do these things you will see you changing right in front of your eyes.

I did !!!

I send all my love,

The dark night of the soul

I believe, in order to create a healthy body you must embrace the changes that are going on around you.

I myself have had a hard time embracing this change that we are currently seeing in the world. I realized it’s been about 2 months now that we have been living in a fear based world. It has been hard to leave the house for many people. I have had to really look at my own struggles that I have been facing when I leave the house and go into public places.

In the beginning of all if this I noticed people were happy that they were off work and had a chance to be free of the constraints of the hustle and bustle of life.

I went to the park with my kids and we rode our bikes and so many people smiled at us and said hi as we rode by. I noticed a shift as time went on though. People started to be suspicious, looking at me and my family that don’t ware a mask. I felt judged and questioned just by the way they looked at me. As I noticed the shift changing from happy, to lack of trust, and questioning me in their minds, I found myself not wanting to leave my own house. I found sanction in my house and a freedom here that I did not get out in public places. I’ve struggled with that for a while now and I realized that this virus scare has been going on now for 2 months. That’s a long time for people to be afraid. That’s a long time for me to feel frustrated with life as it is.

This constant low level stress decreases the immune system and causes cortisol in the body to rise which can make it really hard for people to get good quality sleep. Even though I have a meditation practice, breathing practices, eat well and drink only 1 caffeine tea in the morning I still have a hard time relaxing enough at night to go to sleep at times.

I’ve realized that I am having my own experience of the dark night of the soul. I realized unless I can get it out of my physiology I will continue to have issues with it and not be able to come to terms with it.

What have I done to help myself get through this hard time…

  • Breath work – It’s important to get enough oxygen in the body so we can function properly throughout the day. Just doing a 3 part breath is simple and is a great way to start off the day. The 3 part breath is breathing in with a natural pause at the top and breathing out with a natural pause at the end. Make sure your sitting up straight and comfortable when you do breath work.
  • Meditation – It helps so much on a subtle level, to quiet the mind of all that chatter that goes on in the head. It helps move the clouds away so your thoughts can come through clearly. It’s a great way to start the day because how we start the day sets the stage for how the rest of the day will go.
  • Journaling – After I clear my mind through breath work and meditation I like to journal because I’m so much clearer with my thought process. I can articulate better, think things through better, a come to conclusions as to why I’m thinking these things. I just feel clearer in being able to work through my issues better after meditation.
  • Gratitude – you must have gratitude to have a great day. We can find gratefulness in everything. If your having a hard time being grateful just start small… you can say things like – I’m grateful for being alive (because the alternative is dead). I’m grateful for my bed, I’m grateful for the blooming trees, ect. As you write your gratefulls you will see it puts you in a better mood and like I said before how we start our day sets the stage for how the rest of the day will go.
  • Exercise is so important to getting stress out of the body. just going for a 20 min walk, doing some yoga, any type of movement that will get the heart pumping and blood circulating around helps move the bad feeling out of the body.

Throughout the day continue to question your thoughts that come up. This will help you continue to work on things. Ask yourself why am I thinking this. Why do I believe this. Why am I judging. Why am I upset about this situation.

If we take the time to look at our thoughts as they come through we can continue to work on ourselves and get ourselves to a better state of mind.

I believe even though there is so much going on in the world that we see as bad… there is so much going on in the world that I see as good.

  • We are able to relax more and take much needed time for ourselves
  • We are able learn new things
  • We are doing nice things for each other like making masks, going to the store for each other, ect
  • We are able to declutter our house, do some spring cleaning, ect
  • We are able to go out and be in nature.
  • People are more concerned with their health now than ever before.
  • People are eating at home more and making good wholesome meals for themselves and their families.
  • People are buying more organic food
  • Food companies that don’t treat their animals well are having to close down for a while.

I believe we have the opportunity to think that positive will come from this or negative will come from this.

I choose to bring myself back to the positive aspects of all of this. This is what will make me ultimately feel better. I also know what you place your attention on you place your energy on

Where you place your attention is where you place your energy. ~ Dr. Joe Dispenza

If we all choose to place our attention on the good that will come of this we will continue to see more good and this is where We will be as a society.

We will get through this and we will be stronger for it.

I will be striving to continue to spend my time on the positive aspects of this. I’ll see you all there.

We live in a changing world

When we go through a change like the one we are facing now, as a global community, we are literally forced to change with it weather we want to or not. This can be a very hard time for people especially when we are not ready to change or when we have to face change that we never wanted or anticipated in our wildest dreams.

As a global community, we are facing a falling away of the life we once knew and we don’t know what life will be like on the other side of this challenging time.

I found myself in the grieving process and did not realize it until just yesterday.

The Kübler-Ross model says there are 5 stages to grief.

They are – denial , anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

They say that we can cycle through these over and over again until we get through the pain of it. Its only after we have processed through these stages that we can come to an understanding of the situation, event, or death that has occurred in our life and be in acceptance of “what is.”

No matter how hard it is to get through we must allow ourselves the time, space, and comfort of grief. If we don’t we are subject to “dis-ease”.

Dis-ease that has not been delt with at the emotional level becomes disease in the body eventually if we choose to ignore it and sweep it under the rug.

To get through these stages and wind up at the end “intact”, we must embrace the stages of grief and turn towards the discomfort of feeling all these things. Crying, Journaling, working out, talking it out with others are all good ways of moving this energy and then eventually moving it out.

Journaling is a great way to turn towards the feelings that come up and it helps get emotions out of your head and on paper. It doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings. You don’t have to feel regret at what you said and it helps you process your own thoughts, emotions and feelings around the situation at hand before talking with others about your thoughts and feelings on the situation. It helps you collect your thoughts so your not speaking emotionally but now more intellectually on the situation. You may even be able to see the whole picture instead of just a portion of it after lots of journaling.

Also getting enough exercise is key. Weather it’s just a walk around the block for 20 min or it’s lifting weights in your garage, it’s a must to move the stagnant energy that builds up an emotional weight on the body. When the emotional distress sits inside us, it festers. Especially if we are watching too much news, or reading too much negative stuff, we need to get that energy out.

What happens is if you watch something negative you start getting into the fight, flight, freeze mode and they say the quickest way to get that energy out of your body is to exercise right after bad news. this gets it moving out so it doesn’t build up and now you can deal with things better. More clear and level headed.

The last thing people want to do at a time like this is bring on more stress in the body. It weakens the bodies immune system. Bruce Lipton has some great scientific research on stress and the immune system. he has YouTube videos and books on the subject. He’s a great resource. I highly suggest people take some time and see what he has to say.

Please, please, please stay away from the news. We are all informed of the situation at hand and we will always know what’s going on just by talking with others. You don’t need it through the lens and filter of negative and scared media. When we watch media we are not able to process this our own way.

Do yourself a huge favor and allow yourself to process this your own way.

I am sending so much love and light your way. I wish you all well. Keep your immune systems high by eating organic, easily digestible foods while we are going through this global change.

Reduce stress by Being in the present moment

Right now we are preparing our house for sale. The process of getting a house ready for sale can be quite overwhelming especially when you have a lot of unfinished house projects that need to be finished before the house goes on the market. To make stress levels go up, we have a 3 month time frame that we need to get our house on the market to get the most benefit in this market, not to mention the everyday running the kids around, cooking, grocery shopping, etc.

I realized, when I don’t stay in the present moment I get quite overwhelmed easily with the long list of things that need to be done in the short amount of time that we have. I realize when I break it down day by day and project by project I stay focused and calmer.

“This is being present in the moment.”

I stay in the present by organizing my thoughts and my to do list. I make a lot of mental notes because I’m constantly moving around. It’s hard sometimes to slow down to write things down. Although, some people must do this to help keep themselves organized and on track.

I’ve organized knowing what my responsibilities are vs my husband. This helps know that he has certain things covered and this helps him know other things are covered by me. We work as a team and constantly check in with each other. That’s very comforting because then we both know where we are at in any given moment so we aren’t questioning what’s going on with the other persons projects.

“Communication is key.”

I also make sure I get my needs met during this process by continuing to meditate every morning and getting movement of some kind to help ground myself and to get that excess stress energy off. Yoga, gentle workout, or some type of movement helps me. This is key for me as it is for most that practice some type of workout routine. I noticed that the combination of meditation and movement helps keep my stress down and keeps me focused.

So during my day when I find myself thinking about the near future (that has not happened yet) or reminiscing about the past (that already happened) I bring myself back to the present moment of what I’m doing now. When I’m in the present moment I notice I enjoy the painting more, the cleaning and decluttering more. It sounds crazy but it’s amazingly true. I’m actually enjoying this process more than I imagined.

Also before we got started I decided to put love into the house as I fix it up. When we first talked about selling the house we didn’t want to go through the same ordeal that we did when we bought it. It was a mess and a lot of uncaring things were done in the process by the sellers and real estate agents. We did not want to relive that. I know from my background in energy work that we put into things what we want to get back. So we decided to put love into the house and I know it will pay huge dissidents later. We will find a family that not only loves the house but also feels the love in the house and they will feel good with the deal. I know in my heart that in the end this will be the best sale that benefits both parties, Not just one.

Anyways I hope this helps my readers. This is a personal thing that I’m going through but I know when we share our own personal experiences with others that it reaches who it needs to and helps them as well.

So be strong, keep practicing, take life one day at a time and you will be surprised at how far you come within 3 months, 6 months, 1 year.

I am a life coach here to help you on your journey through change. If your interested in assistance, drop me a line. You can find out more on my website http://www.mysticalhealingarts.com

Also if there is something you would like me to talk about, let me know. I would be happy to explore more with you all.

I’m sending much love.

Sometimes later becomes never

when we procrastinate something long enough, it eventually becomes never!!!

Remember the vacation you were saving for and weren’t sure you can afford it… it eventually never happened. Life took over, bills had to be paid, others wanted to do something else. Whatever happened you must not have wanted it bad enough.

We send out vibrations to the universe, people and animals all the time and we get back what we send out. We have to want something so bad that we’re willing to fight for it.

How far are you willing to go for something that you want so bad. Are you willing to argue your point? Are you willing to demand it? are you willing to take a stand? It’s important to understand. I know if I’m not totally, hands down, serious about something I will let someone else’s fears sway my decision. I will let someone talk me into giving up on my dream. We have all done this at some point in our lives. Just think back a little, I’m sure you can remember something.

What prompted me to write about this is that my husband and I are making some big life decisions to move, and not just move but to downsize and move into an RV for a while with our two boys, a large dog and a cat. Lol. I know it sounds crazy. The first time I heard that families are doing this, I thought they were crazy. The weekend after I heard about this I started seeing it as an adventure. I started thinking it was not as crazy as I thought. I have been wanting to move to a sunnier place for a couple years now. I thought, this is our chance to move and vacation at the same time. What a great time too see some of the things that not everyone sees in the beautiful USA that we live in. Don’t get me wrong, I want to see the world too, but this is a good start. Our boys are 7 and 9 right now and I think that’s the perfect age for them to remember things and have fun along the way.

Anyways I realized that this means a lot to me because me and my husband would have arguments over when we going to do this, how we are going to do this, and everything in between. I realized I will not let this dream get away. When you love something so much you nurture it and grow it until it’s part of you. That’s where I’m at right now. I know I’m not the only one, so I wanted to help inspire others to keep their dream alive and nurture it. To do that you need it to be around you all the time. Read things on it, watch videos on it, talk to people in the know about your thoughts on this dream. When you do this eventually it will become a reality.

Just keep working on it and it will be your reality.

I’m sending much love you all.

Small steps make big impacts.

It sounds crazy to say “I want to be someone else tomorrow” but it takes that, meaning it takes wanting to be someone other than the person you are today, to make the changes you want to see in you tomorrow. It takes one step at at time to change who we are. Unfortunately most of us can not change over night, Although I wish I could. I would be a lot further into my transformation than I am. But really, I’m truly thankful for where I am today because the alternative is not worth looking at.

10 years from now you will surely arrive. The question is where??

Jim Rohn

Someone once told me when I was 24 years old, that I will be 30 years old with or without a college degree. Either way I will be 30. It is something that stuck with me. At that time I was struggling with how long it would take to get through college and that’s what this person told me, and it is so true. Time moves forward with or without us, so we must start doing what we need to do, to become what we want to become or we will be left behind wondering what life would have been like if only… It’s such a sad thing when people look back at their life and wished that they did something more with their lives.

We will ultimately be the same us next year if we decide to do nothing about it today. But if we choose to open up to the idea of change we can make little changes and it will have a big impact in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years.

Now is the time to fix the next 10 years.

Jim Rohn

First things first, decide what it is that you would like to change about yourself. And I’m not taking about superficial stuff like plumping up your lips. lol. I’m talking about deep down stuff that really makes you who you are. Things like the way you act when people are around. Maybe your the shy type and you don’t want to be shy any longer. Taking little steps each day will help you get out of that shy pattern.

Because it’s all old patterns that we need to change.

Step 2 – Make a mental note (or a list) on how you will overcome this old habit, say being shy around people. An example would be to say hi to people. By the end of the year you may be able to start and hold conversations with people you never met just by pushing yourself a little bit each day.

Step 3 – The key is consistency. Be Consistent with yourself, that you will follow through 95% of the time. We all have challenging days and we must acknowledge that and nurture ourselves when needed. Although more times than not we must push through our insecurities to become the person we are destined to be tomorrow.

Step 4 – Keep a positive attitude. When we have negative self talk we end up closing down and walking away from what could have been. All day long we are having dialog with our self weather we are in tune with this conversation or not. A lot of the time it is quite negative and self sabotaging. We MUST work on this to overcome it so we can move above and beyond where we are currently at. This is a really important step. Don’t gloss over this one because if you do your mind will take over and you loose. I still have to talk with myself and turn my thoughts around daily. There’s always something.

A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself each day, how do I feel today? Do I feel like I’m on track? Do I feel good? Did I wake up tired and kinda grumpy? We all have those days where we don’t feel like our chipper self because either we did not sleep well, or we are sick, or whatever it may be. In these situations It is best to be on guard and know you will have to work harder in keeping things positive or watching your negative thoughts so that they don’t go on a rampage and make you spiral into a negative cycle.

Be the change you want to see.

The final thought I have to leave you with is to be kind to yourself. Transformation is hard and it is a work in progress ALWAYS. We are not perfect. We are human and we will make mistakes along the way. We must acknowledge and forgive ourselves.

We all have days or times in the day when we replay parts of the day we did not like. Its how we deal with it that’s the important part.

When you have accomplished one thing, go back and do the steps all over again & again & again & again. We are a work in progress and constant motion. As long as we are taking steps to improving ourselves we are on the right track.

Ultimately the only rules you need to play by, are your own rules. You don’t even need to take my advice if it doesn’t seem to work for you. I just hope that I have brought some value to your life by offering some information to ponder.

I look forward to your comments and any thoughts you have on my next blog.

I’m sending you all much love and light.

We must work with the mind in order to create lasting change.

Our minds are what lift us up to become something great or what can bring us down and break our spirits. I’m sure this is why the late Louise Hay was always working with people on bettering the mind through affirmations. She was called the affirmation queen.

Positive affirmations can work for many people because its all about training the mind with positive thoughts. I CAN DO IT thoughts. We come up with our own affirmations all the time and we don’t even realize it. Unfortunately it is old programed affirmations that are not helpful like “I can’t do it” or “I’m lazy” or “I’m so dumb”. These are a few of the ones that people use on a daily basis.

People don’t realize how deeply words affect us. Spoken words are a vibration that travel into and through us in ways that changes our molecular structure. You can learn more about the science and impart words have on us through Dr. Masaru Emoto’s water experiments. If you have never seen the water study before, I urge you to search this on YouTube. Its so fascinating. It will truly make an impact on how you use words. There is another experiment that others have done with rice thats very interesting and its something you can do at home if interested called the “Rice Experiment”. Its similar to Dr. Emoto’s study but with rice.

Since I learned words are vibration, I have watched my language more. I’m more aware of what I am saying to myself, to my family, and to others. I am also more sensitive to hearing lower vibrational words now and I’m always correcting my husband and my kids so that they use better language. I’m still not perfect and I use words that are not always of a good vibration and at times my kids correct me as well. LOL. I love it because It means I have taught them well. We are always improving ourselves.

I have an activity for you to try; watch your words today and see what comes out of your mouth.

  • Is it nice?
  • Is it mean?
  • How do you talk to yourself?
  • Do you talk lovingly?
  • Do you put yourself down?

Be more present with your language today and get an idea of the language you use. When we are more aware of our speech with other and self talk we can start to make the changes we need to become our better selves. When we continue to be unaware of our speech, we are dis-empowering ourselves. The opposite is also true… when we continue to be aware of our speech and actions this is empowering to us because then we can start to make the changes we need to in order to grow into the people we want to become. There is a quote… “If you keep doing what you did, you will continue to get what you got”. Bruce Lipton talks about the programs that we are raised with and how they are mostly dis-empowering. We must change that programing and bring in new programs in order to raise our vibration and become the better people we would like to grow into.

It all starts with being aware of ourselves. What we say, how we act, ect. I know it seems simple but try it and see what happens.

YOU GOT THIS !!

About Me

Hi, I’m Mandy McKitrick and I look forward to working with you.

My journey into wellness started when I was young. I loved playing outside, riding my bike, climbing trees, skating. You know what other kids like to do. When I got older I started working out at the gym and eating healthy, or what I thought was healthy. I was never really over weight but I was not a super skinny person either. When I was 25 years old I started having digestive issues. My body did not like what I was feeding it. I was going through a lot of stress at time as well. Which I know now helped contribute to my new found issues with food and stress. I went through all the testing and was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Disease).

This was the true start to my journey into wellness. I’ve searched, read, seen, and listened to many people on what I should do to heal my body. Some have worked and some have not. I never gave up though. I may have fallen off at times and splurged on certain foods I knew I should not have, but I always knew that I could not let that be the end to my search. So I straightened up and ate better and felt better. That was my yoyo diet. When I had kids it was a wake up call that I needed to work even harder to eat clean, fix my thoughts, and find spirituality in some way, shape, or form. I saw that my kids guts were similar to mine. They did not tolerate certain foods. So we ate the best way we knew how at the time and I continued to learn about REAL nutrition and practiced that with my family.

Its been almost 20 years since my diagnoses of IBS and I can say It has been a wild road with lots of ups and downs. The thing that always keeps me striving forward is that I know it’s the right thing to do for me and my family, that we will be healthy, we will be able to live long healthy lives because I have persevered. I am also very lucky to have such a wonderful husband that has been understanding and willing to try new things even when he was not sure he always agreed with the changes.

We taught our kids from an early age that they could not eat certain things and we educated them on why. They fortunately would ask about the ingredients of everything they eat when it was outside the house. As they have gotten older they now read the ingredients. I’ve taught them a lot on what to look for, the wording that is used to hide certain ingredients that they don’t want you to know about such as Natural Flavors. I tell them if it’s not listed its not worth having because they are hiding something that is most likely not good for our bodies.

I won’t lie, it has its challenges to eating clean. But I think the benefits outweigh the challenges. It only makes us stronger right. I also work in health care and see people with a long list of ailments that help remind me that I Never want to end up that way. Don’t get me wrong, I know we are all going to die sometime. I will die at a ripe old age feeling younger than my peers WITHOUT that long list of ailments because I choose a different lifestyle than most.

The reason I choose to start this blog is because I would like to assist people in changing the way they show up for themselves. Whether that be changing the thought patterns that poison our minds or food choices that poison our bodies or both. I know how hard making lifestyle changes can be. I see so many people out there trying to make the right choices but floundering. We are in an overloaded informational age where there are so many people calling out facts (or what they think or want to believe are facts) and I would like to help offer real solutions that I have learned over my journey through paid education, reading scientific information, & reading other blogs from people I trust, ect. I would like to help individuals, like yourself, Get to the next level of your journey to grow yourself into a better you.

Over time I will be offering information and advice on things that I feel are important for a life of positive change. If you would like me to talk more about certain things please drop me an email and I would be happy to blog my thoughts and help you achieve a higher better self. It gives me great joy to help other like minded people get from zerotohero in no time.
